Important Art Deco diamond clip earrings from late 1930s – early 1940s Retro style. The earrings resemble a flower bouquet in Indian or Oriental style adorned with 3 freely dangling diamond pendant strips of different length set throughout with graduated diamonds. There is a total of 88 round brilliant cut and 12 baguette cut diamonds set in platinum and total diamond weight is estimated to be of over 11 carats. The smallest round diamonds range from roughly 2.5mm in diameter having weights of about 0.06 carat each and going up until 3.8mm in diameter and sizes of 0.21 carats. The baguette cut diamonds have an average size of approximately 0.08 carats each. The earrings are both large in size and heavy in weight being 52mm in length (little over 2”) and are 21mm wide at their widest parts, where they attach to the ear lobe. The diamond pendants or strips have various lengths with longest one being 26mm (about 1”). The gross weight of the pair is 24 grams of PT-950 platinum. All diamonds set throughout this fantastic vintage jewel have a superb sparkle and color with an average E-F color and VS1 clarity. The exceptional design of this pair of drop earrings allows the main part to stay firmly to the ear, while the pendants beneath to dangle freely creating an unmatched impression. Although apparently unmarked, this set is truly an important piece of antique jewelry most likely crafted by some of the top French Art Deco jewelry firms of that time like Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Chaumet, etc. Scarce and extremely attractive collector pair of antique jewelry and one of the Important Art Deco and Retro styles diamond ear clips and jewels.
